We try not to do too much of this but it is nice to do.  Right now the favorites are Olivia, Max and Ruby, and Little Bear.  These characters are some of the nicest ever, such good manners.  So it makes it easier to every couple of days say yes to a show or two.

Houston in the spring is amazing!  Lovely weather, not too buggy and perfect for playing in the spinklers just before dinner (outside of course).

Happy Spring,

Ms. Gilda says you are all sweet.  But I have to disagree.  Mixed in with that sweet is one part motormouth, one part goofy, one part comedian (sometimes you say hello by doing a pratfall), and a bunch of other things that make you the interesting and lovable little boy that you are.  You love singing God Bless America and Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.   And you told me recently that you wanted to go to the place where they make cars.

I think I can see a lot of you in these pictures.

It is FotoFest time again!  Flashes of Hope is thrilled to be partnering with our amazing volunteer photographers of the American Media Photographers Association, the Main Street Theater and FotoFest to bring you “Houston Portraits of Hope.”  This beautiful collection of images features the work of 13 volunteer photographers and the stunning portraits of some really wonderful kids.

Our opening night is March 28th at 6:30 pm.  Come on out and mix and mingle with our photogs, volunteers, and some of our special kids and families.  It is going to be a fun night!

Just a note.  I have been the Chapter Director of the Texas Children’s Hospital chapter with my friend Amy for four years.   It is an incredible organization that is dedicated to creating uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.   The photographs, taken by award winning photographers, and styling done by the best stylists in Houston-  help children feel better about their changing appearance by CELEBRATING IT!  I have seen this first hand countless times.  I know that these images mean so much to the families that receive them.  I always love seeing our Flashes families again – they just love the work that we do.

So if you have some time, come and celebrate with us these beautiful kids and the dedication of all our volunteers.

With Hope!

My little girl is growing.  She is learning and smiling and doing so many wonderful things.  I am so glad that she let’s me stop for a moment every now and then and take her picture.  She is beyond excited to go on our little trip to celebrate Texas in the morning.  We are headed to the Blue Bell Ice Cream Factory tour and perhaps stopping by a western wear store on the way back to invest in some Rodeo gear!

Go Texas,
